2022 European championships: Women's qualification
Today the Seniors took the floor in the legendary Olympiahalle in Munich. They competed in the team's qualifications, that also served as qualifiers for event finals and to crown the all-around European champion.
Team Belgium was represented by Lisa Vaelen, Noémie Louon, Maellyse Brassart, Fien Enghels and Jutta Verkest. Noémie Louon was the first to compete on uneven bars. She scored 12,933 for a clean routine. Up next was Maellyse with a clean piked Jaeger and a good landing (13,133). Lisa had a break on her pak salto but the rest was clean, to score 13,500. Fien was the last to go on bars for Belgium, her best event, and could pretend at a place in final, but she unfortunately fell on her double front dismount (12,600).
On beam, Noémie was solid, with a backhandspring layout step out, double wolf turn, a free cartwheel and a one and a half twist dismount (12,933). Same score for Lisa, while Jutta got 13.000. She competed a backhandspring layout step out, a free walkover, a switch ring leap, and a one and a half twist dismount. Fien was the last to go and no doubt wanted to forget her fall on bars with a clean beam routine. She manages just that and scores 12,700.
On floor, Jutta started off well with a 12,533. Lisa showed a double twist wih a step backwards, a full tiwsting double tuck and a double tuck to finish (13,066). Maellyse unfortunately fell on her double tuck (11,700), while Noémie didn't compete.
They finished on vault. Noémie showed a Yurchenko with a full twist (12,700), as did Maellyse (12,966). Lisa competed two vaults in the hope of qualifying for the final, and she did so with 13,616 ! Jutta finishes the job with another Yurchenko full (12,733). With a total score of 155,663, Belgium finishes in 5th place and qualifies for the team final !
