2023 World Championships: 21st place for Luka in the All-aroundfinal

 Thursday october 5th, the all-aroundfinal for men was scheduled at the World championships in Antwerp. Luka Van de Keybus entered the final as third reserve. He grabbed the opportunity to compete at home and finished 21st. 


Luka started his final on still rings. He scored 12.900 for his well controled routine. He dismounted with a nearly stuck double piked front dismount. On vault he showed a nice yourchenko with 2 and a half twist and was rewarded with 14.500.  Luka was first up in the third rotation on Parallel bars. He showed a good routine including a diamidov, diamidov with half turn, a makuts and a healy and dismounted with a double front summersault with a step on the reception. He scored 14.200. After a strong start, Luka was in the 7th place half way the competition.

On high bar Luka showed intricate turns. He was pleased with his double layout with full turn dismount. The judges rewarded him with 13.500. On floor Luka started with a double piked summersault, showed a nice one and a half twist to front twist and finished with a tripple twist. He scored 13.600. Things took a turn on pommel horse. Luka unfortunately fell right at the start of his routine. He fell a second time and scored 9.666. Ending an all-around competition on the pommel horse is hard. Chinese Wei Sun seemed to be batteling for a medal untill his last apparatus, the pommel horse. 
Daiki Hashimoto from Japan prolongs his title from Liverpool 2022. Ukranian Illia Kovtun won the silver medal and American youngster Fred Richards was third.
