2024 Artistic Gymnastics Apparatus World Cup: Cairo

The coming days (February 15-18) Cairo welcomes gymnasts from 71 nations in their quest for a ticket for the Paris Olympic Games. For team Belgium Nina Derwael, Maellyse Brassart and Erika Pinxten are set to compete in this first  leg of the Artistic Gymnastics Apparatus World Cup 2024. 




At the end of the FIG 2024 Apparatus World Cup series in Artistic Gymnastics, 20 Olympic tickets will be rewarded to the top two eligible gymnasts on each apparatus. The highest ranking gymnasts on each event score points. The winner earns 30 points, the runner-up 25 and the third place gets 20 points.The 16th placed gymnasts receives 1 point. The eligible gymnasts for Paris 2024 will be listed on an Olympic Qualificaiton world cup Ranking list. At the end of the World Cup series, the two highest ranked gymnasts on each apparatus will earn a nominative quoata place for Paris 2024. For this ranking, the 3 best results are taken into account. Only 1 gymnast per apparatus per federation can earn such a spot.

On thursday the qualifications on vault and uneven bars will start at 14:30 Belgian time. Maellyse Brassart will compete on the uneven bars.

On friday the qualifications on balance beam and floor will be held. Qualifications starts at 13:00. Nina Derwael and Erika Pinxten will compete on balance beam. Erika will also compete on floor exercise. 

The finals will be held on saturday and sunday.
