2022 World Championships: 11 and 15th place for Lisa Vaelen and Maellyse Brassart in the all-aroundfinal.

Today Lisa Vaelen and Maellyse Brassart competed in the all-around final at the World championships in Liverpool.  


Lisa Vaelen was the 4th gymnast to compete on the balance beam. She started solidely but things got complicated when she did not complete her acro serie and fell. She recovered very well but scored 11.333. Maellyse Brassart closed the first rotation on the uneven bars with an excellent routine that scored 13.766.  Maellyse had a good start on balance beam but fell on her acrobatic series. She scored 11.733. Lisa came back strongly on floor with 13.366 and scored 14.200 for her rudi vault. On floor her double arabian was skyhigh.  Maellyse did well on floor and scored 13.133. Lisa closed the competition with a good uneven bars routine that scored her 13.800. Maellyse scored 13.266 for her yourchenko full. 

Lisa scored 52.699 all-around and finished 11th in her first all-around final at the World Championship. Maellyse totalised 51.898 and took the 15th place. 

Brazilian Rebecca Andrade took the lead right at the start of the competition with her stunning Cheng vault. She's Brazil first world champion. American Shilese Jones won the silver medal while Jessica Gadirova of Great-Britain was third.
