2024 European Championships for women: All you need to know
On the 2nd of may the European Championships continue with the women's competitions. The Baloise Belgym team is represented by Nina Derwael, Maellyse Brassart, Erika Pinxten, Jade Vansteenkiste and Mika Webster-Longin.
On wednesday the Baloise Belgian team will compete in the first subdivision of the qualifications that starts at 10 o' clock. They will start their competition on vault. The qualifications also serve as all-around final for the seniors and final qualification for the Paris Olympic Games. A Senior team consists of 3 to 5 gymnasts, of which up to 4 compete on each apparatus. The 3 best scores on each apparatus are added together to make the total score for the Team on that apparatus. The 8 best teams from the qualifications will compete in the Team Final. Just like the men, the Belgian women hope to qualify for the Team Final as well as for some apparatus finals. Maellyse Brassart, Erika Pinxten and Jade Vansteenkiste will compete all-around and fight for the last qualification spot for the Olympic Games this summer. They can expect fierce competition from Polish veteran Marta Pihan-Kulesza and other gymnasts chasing their Olympic dreams.
On the junior side Katie Baert, Louise Dupont, Sien Ghekiere, Silke Hoste and Liese Vieuxtemps will compete as a team. 4 gymnasts compete on each apparatus, the 3 best scores are taken into account for the team final. The results from the Junior Qualifying competition will determine the 2024 Junior European Team Champion and medallists. The 24 highest ranked gymnasts in the all-around from the Junior Qualifying Competition will qualify for the respective All-Around Final with a maximum of two gymnasts per federation. The 8 highest ranked gymnasts (with a max of 2 gymnasts per federation) will compete in the individual apparatus finals. The juniors will compete in the subdivison on friday, starting at 15:30. They will start their competition on floor.

The senior competition will be streamed on EBU's platform Eurovision-Sport. The finals will be broadcasted on Sporza and other European TV channels.
