Junior Worlds Gyor : top 5 for our girls, bars final for Noémie and Stacy!

Today was the second day of competition in Gyor. After the boys yesterday, this Friday saw the girls compete for the very first Junior World titles. Our Belgian girls did an amazing job, placing 5th as a team and qualifying for 2 event finals.

Noémie Louon, Stacy Bertrandt and Lisa Vaelen started their competition in the 2nd subdivision on vault. With three solid vaults, they scored 13.066, 13.400 and 13.200 respectively and were off to a good start.

On bars, if things didn't go according to plan for Lisa who had to count a fall (11.933), Stacy and Noémie really shone. With solid sets, they scored 13.266 and 13.433, enough to qualify for the uneven bars final in 7th and 8th place.

On beam, Noémie fell but still got 11.766. Lisa received 12.566 while Stacy got the highest score for the team with 12.900. They finished on floor, an event for which Belgium is known for its original choreographies.  Lisa and Noémie got big scores for the team with 12.866 and 12.833, enough to put them in the 2nd and 3rd reserve spots. Stacy scored 12.500.

The team competition was won by Russia with 111.654, ahead of China (109.497) and the United States (109.380). Belgium placed 5th with a total score of 104.464.

In the all-around, Russia's Viktoriia Listunova won the gold medal with 55.323. Her teammate Vladislava Urazova got the silver medal (55.298). China's Ou Yushan completes the podium with 54.931. 

Stacy is the best Belgian, with 52.066 and the 9th place, followed by Noémie with 51.098 in 11th place. Lisa, as the 3rd Belgian is not officially in the rankings (only the two best per country are ranked) but got 50.565.
